Portrait of a Craftsman

A picture rich in atmosphere; a side of the trade which the public and even the retailer rarely see. The typical jeweller’s work bench; the craftsman old in skill and experience.

Mr. Fred Adams is 79 and he has been in the trade for 67 years. Not quite as deft as he once was, perhaps, but still a first class craftsman, he does his full week’s work and is always on time. Fred is a jewellery mounter with the firm of S. G. Ward, of Branston Street, Birmingham.
