Professor Carl Chinn states: “Jewellery Quarter Heritage is a vital initiative to ensure that the historic and manufacturing integrity of this world-famous district is respected in a sensitive, dynamic and sustainable way that engages responsibly with the present and future needs of the area.”
Jewellery Quarter Heritage will of course continue working with various similar groups around the West Midlands, and beyond, and have several new projects in mind.
To launch officially there will be a ‘Nibbles and Natter’ event at the Vertu Bar on 6th September between 2.30pm and 4.30pm (and a bit later!) so please drop in and, if you feel inclined, join us as a friend or supporter.
With the encouragement of JQH, there are now at least three projects in the pre-planning stage for ‘affordable workshops’ in the heart of the Quarter, which are aimed at encouraging people to set up ‘on their own’ (almost without exception, every person has a creative streak in them, longing to get out, given a chance!) but it is most important when becoming self-employed to know what your exact outgoings are going to be.
If you would like to be involved in any capacity – you can simply join our newsletter group on our website which has only just been set up and much more stuff will be added shortly.
